Easybasketball rules for those born in 2013/2014: will be updated in 2025

ATTONTION! We will not play easybasketball on a full-sized court, except A - and B finals which are played on a full-sized cour.

  • 6 periods x 5 minutes continuous playing time. Time is paused when a player is injured. Substitutions take place during the period break, unless there are special reasons for it to be done at a different time.
  • The game starts with a jump ball.
  • 4 vs 4 is NOT played on a full-sized court but rather across a smaller court
  • Low heigt of the basketball hoop  (260 cm)
  • Size 5 balls are used
  • 3 seconds rule applies
  • Ties are decided by over time where "sudden death" is applied. Over time begins with a jump ball. The team from the last period is included
  • Man to man defence is applicable.
  • Zone defence ans zone pressure are not allowed. If this rule is violated, the coach involved is issued a technical foul and the oppenent is rewarded with 2 points
  • If a team leads by 20 points or more, no defence shall be allowed in the front half of the court. If this rule is violated even after a warning is issued by the referee, the team involved is issued a technical foul and the opposing team is rewarded with 2 points and the team also keeps the possession of the ball.
  • If any player or team personnel commits a criminal act during the tournament, he or she will be immediately suspended from further participation and went home. Such person will also be reported to their club, basketball district and possibly reported to the police.
  • Consumption of alcohol is prohibited on the premises of the tournament and smoking is prohibited both indoors and outside the classrooms, canteens and bus stops.
  • It is allowed to take the ball from a player player holding the ball.
  • No free throws nor time-outs
  • All players must play at least 2 periods
  • The period breaks are like a timeout with a 1-minute rest.
  • Bonus points are awarded when a player is fouled during a shooting motion and the ball goes in. A bonus point gives 1 point. Then the defending team inbound the ball as after a normal goal.
  • When a player is fouled during a shooting motion and the ball does not go in the following happens: The team whose player was fouled is awarded 1 point and they keep the ball possession and inbound behind the sideline.
  • A player cannot foul out. Instead, very foul committed by the team is recorded.
  • When a team gets 4 team fouls in a period, the team is in team foul mode, which means that all subsequent fouls committed by the team are penalized with the opposing team being awarded a bonus point and a inbound from the sideline.
  • In the event of a technical foul on the coach: 2 points are awarded to the oppenents and get to retain ball possession from the center line.
  • A player is not permitted to play in several teams within the same age group
  • Backcourt violation is not applied.
  • The 5 seconds rule applies
  • Dunking is prohibitedin all gyms during the Skövde Basketball tournament.
  • The game scores will be recorded for the A and B playoffs. Results will be shown on the scoreboard an published.
  • In the age group 13/14, trophies are awarded to those who came 1st in A and B final. Medals are awarded to 1st & 2nd positions in the A-final.
